  • Your appointment fee covers: the consultation time, a clinic letter and any other standard administration that arises from that consultation.

  • Unlike many private menopause clinics, we do not charge a private prescription fee for a prescription written during your appointment.

We charge an administration fee of £30 to write a private prescription outside of a clinical appointment. This payment covers our time to do this.

If you have a private prescription, you will need to also pay for the HRT medication. Your doctor will be able to discuss the price of these with you during your appointment.

  • If you require the completion of any additional paperwork, (for example for an insurer) we may charge an additional administration fee, which would be advised in advance of the work being completed.

  • This fee does not include the cost of investigations, if clinically advised such as blood tests, or scans etc.

Your appointment journey with Lemala Health

1. First Appointment (around 45 mins)

We take time to understand your symptoms, medical history and hormonal journey so far.

We will also ask you about your lifestyle - including sleep, alcohol, nutrition, exercise and stress.

Together we create a personalised plan, following British Menopause Society and NICE guidance. This may include HRT as well as lifestyle advice.

2. Afterwards

Within a few days, you’ll receive a clinic letter summarising your treatment plan. With your permission, we will send a copy to your GP.

Prescriptions can be arranged privately via an online pharmacy, or you may choose to discuss our recommendation with your NHS GP. You will need to pay for any medication prescribed privately.

If blood tests are advised, we will help you arrange these.

3. Settling In

Upon starting HRT it is quite common to experience mild side effects (such as bloating, mood changes, bleeding or breast tenderness).

You can email us with simple queries while your body adjusts - we’re here to support you.

4. Follow-Up Appointment (around 25 mins)

This appointment is important and usually occurs after 2-3 months. We will take time to review your symptoms, and if required suggest further medication changes, investigations and lifestyle changes. .

If a further private prescription is needed, no fee will be charged for writing this but the cost of medication is still payable to the online pharmacy.

5. Ongoing Care

After your follow up appointment, we’ll agree when to meet again. This will depend on how you are your feeling and what medication changes have been suggested. This may be between 3–12 months.

In between appointments, if you require a further prescription, this can be requested via our [Repeat Prescriptions page].

All women prescribed medication by Lemala Health will need to have a review every 12 months.

  • I’d been struggling with exhaustion, joint pain, brain fog and low mood, thinking it was grief, or just a busy life. After seeing Dr Emma and starting HRT, everything changed - I even found myself dancing in the kitchen with my daughter again. Her evidence-based, practical advice on hormones, exercise and nutrition has helped me get back to living a balanced, happy, fun life

    Carol, Retired Headteacher.

  • I had been really struggling with symptoms, despite the HRT I was using. I had also been struggling with some side effects from oestrogel. Dr Emma Ginns advised some changes to my HRT, having seen the results of a recent blood test. Thankfully, I am feeling so much better following the changes we made!

    Heidi, Company Director

  • I have met with with Dr Ginns on a number of occasions over the last 5 years regarding my symptoms, initially helping me to recognise that they were indeed menopause symptoms, and then helping me to address these with appropriate management. As with everything this evolves over time, and Emma is there with answers and options at every step. I have always found Emma to be very knowledgeable and able to communicate in a way that I understand.

    Amanda, Surgeon

  • I have seen Dr Walling several times regarding my menopause symptoms and then my HRT regime. She always made me feel very comfortable as she is very knowledgeable about the subject and explains things perfectly. I have recommended her to several of my family and friends

    Hilary Johnson

  • I only wish I’d seen Dr Mari Walling sooner. After years of being told I had fatigue and depression, I finally felt listened to. No judgement, no rush - just expert care. It was a lifeline. I’m now symptom-free and thriving. So glad I did.
