Starting or adjusting HRT often brings questions. If you need advice or reassurance about straightforward queries while your body settles into treatment, we're happy to support you by email at no additional cost.

What’s not included in your consultation fee?

Some aspects of your care may involve additional costs if needed. We will always explain any additional costs before arranging treatment or investigations, so you’ll know exactly what to expect.

Medication
The cost of any prescribed medication is paid directly to the pharmacy.

Blood tests and investigations

Your appointment journey with Lemala Health

New consultation £240

Online via secure video or telephone (around 45 minutes)

Your first appointment gives us time to understand you as a whole person, not just your menopause symptoms.

We'll discuss:

  • your symptoms and hormonal journey so far

  • your medical history and current medications

  • your sleep, stress levels, nutrition, exercise and alcohol intake

  • what's most important to you and your treatment goals

Together, we'll create a personalised menopause treatment plan. This may include hormone replacement therapy (HRT), lifestyle medicine recommendations, non hormonal treatments or further investigations where appropriate.

Afterward your consultation

Following your appointment:

  • You'll receive a detailed clinic letter summarising your consultation and personalised treatment plan.

  • With your permission, we'll send a copy to your NHS GP to help keep your care joined up. We’re also happy to liaise with your medical, surgical or cancer care teams.

  • If appropriate, we'll arrange a private prescription or provide recommendations for you to discuss with your NHS GP.

  • If blood tests or other investigations are recommended, we'll explain why they're needed and help you arrange them. Read more about the blood tests we offer.

Ongoing support included

Finding the right HRT can sometimes involve a little fine tuning. Mild side effects such as breast tenderness, bloating, changes in bleeding or temporary mood changes are common while your body adjusts.

If you have straightforward questions after starting treatment, we're happy to provide advice and reassurance by email while you're settling into treatment, at no additional cost. You can always contact us.

Follow-up consultation £160

Online via secure video or telephone (around 25 minutes).

Your first follow-up appointment usually takes place around 2 to 3 months after starting treatment.

We'll review:

  • how your symptoms have changed and how you're getting on with treatment

  • any side effects

  • whether your medication or dose needs adjusting

  • any further lifestyle recommendations that may support your long-term health

Our goal is to help you feel as well as possible while ensuring your treatment remains safe and effective.

Ongoing care

The timing of future reviews depends on your individual circumstances. While treatment is being adjusted, you may benefit from more frequent reviews. Once your symptoms are well controlled and your treatment is stable, many women only require an annual review.

Women prescribed medication by Lemala Health are reviewed at least every 12 months to ensure their treatment continues to be safe, appropriate and effective.

If you need a prescription between appointments, this can be requested through our Repeat Prescriptions page. Prescriptions requested outside a consultation are charged at £30.

Our commitment to transparent menopause care

We know that choosing private healthcare is an important decision. That's why we're committed to clear pricing, no annual repeat prescription fee, no charge for straightforward email support between appointments, and personalised care from an experienced menopause specialist GP.

Our focus is on helping you feel better, not charging for unnecessary extras.
