-
Your appointment fee covers the consultation time, a clinic letter and any standard administration related to your consultation.
-
Unlike many private menopause clinics, we do not charge a separate fee for a prescription written during your appointment.
If a prescription is requested outside of a clinical appointment, an administration fee of £30 applies. This covers the time required to issue the prescription.
Please note that if you have a private prescription, you will need to pay separately for any HRT medication. Your doctor will discuss the costs with you during your appointment.
-
If you require the completion of any additional paperwork, for example for insurance purposes, an additional administration fee may apply. This will always be communicated to you before the work is completed.
-
Appointment fees do not include the cost of any investigations, such as blood tests or scans, if clinically advised. Your doctor will discuss these and any associated costs during your consultation.
Your appointment journey with Lemala Health
New Consultation (around 45 mins)
We take time to understand your symptoms, medical history and hormonal journey so far.
We will talk about day to day factors such as sleep, stress, nutrition, exercise and alcohol, focusing on how these may be affecting your symptoms.
Together we create a personalised menopause care plan. This may include HRT, lifestyle advice or other recommended treatments tailored to your needs.
Afterwards
Within a few days, you’ll receive a clinic letter summarising your treatment plan. With your permission, we will send a copy to your GP.
Prescriptions can be arranged privately via an online pharmacy, or you may choose to discuss our recommendation with your NHS GP. Please note that any private medication costs are payable separately.
If blood tests or other investigations are advised, we will help you arrange these.
Settling In
After starting HRT, it is quite common to experience mild side effects (such as bloating, mood changes, bleeding or breast tenderness).
You can email us with simple queries while your body adjusts - we’re here to support you throughout the process.
Follow-Up Consultation (around 25 mins)
This appointment usually occurs after 2–3 months and is an important opportunity to review your symptoms.
If needed, we may suggest further medication adjustments, investigations, or lifestyle changes.
If a further private prescription is required, there is no charge for writing this, though medication costs remain payable to the online pharmacy.
Ongoing Care
After your follow-up consultation, we agree on the timing of future visits. This depends on your symptoms and any medication changes and typically ranges from 3 to 12 months.
In between appointments, further prescriptions can be requested via our Repeat Prescriptions page.
All women prescribed medication by Lemala Health will have a review at least every 12 months to ensure safe, personalised care.
